We were asked to come up with ideas and stories for animations to introduce Nickelodeon Movies films. Our client asked us to consider something that stayed away from the orange splat and slime references that had defined Nickelodeon in the past. Now that Nickelodeon Movies was producing animated features as well as live action features, an introduction that appealed to both children and adults was desired.

In the end, after presenting many thoughtful and clever solutions to the introduction animation, we agreed that the images seen through a kaleidoscope are something that both children and adults appreciate. We developed the story of a small journey from outer space, to sky, to inner space briefly touching upon hints of visually rich objects found in nature and technology that might be seen during such a journey. In the end the animation summarizes the many types of places that someone’s imagination can see.
