In the past 12 months, we have seen a pandemic grind our country to a halt, racial injustices brought to the forefront, an election, and an insurrection. The power of a vote is more important than ever, regardless of an individual’s political beliefs. The Brennan Center ensures that this is upheld, which is important work and a cause that needs a voice.
We established a campaign visual language and animation style that is approachable and lends itself to seamless transitions so viewers can be taken on a journey that covers topics from mass incarceration to gerrymandering. Each frame can be paused and used as a hard hitting, stand alone still image, and many were. This allowed for a powerful print and social campaign to be born from the work. Most marketing in the political sphere is a dry testimonial or existing footage and quotes. This compelling story is told via rich, impactful visuals that leave a lasting impression.
Leading up to the inauguration, this video was used to increase awareness around the Center’s core mission of building an America that is democratic, just, and free – for all. To do this, donations and grants are paramount to their success. The film is a rallying cry aimed at galvanizing viewers into either action or supporting the action of the Center.
