When legendary furniture design firm Herman Miller wanted to educate customers on their concept of the “Living Office” they realized they needed a compelling method to get the word across. So they got in touch with Brand New School to help create an interactive tabletop display for the company’s showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. The table made its debut at the 2014 NeoCon, the biggest design conference for commercial interiors in North America.
Herman Miller’s Senior Manager of Digital Art Direction Eric Ishii-Eckhardt reached out to Brand New School after partnering with us on past projects. We worked with Herman Miller’s in-house design team to prototype, design, and build the electronics and software for the table, which houses several video screens and features animations detailing the company’s Living Office concept. Visitors can explore the animations by turning the physical dials mounted below the screens.
