The Challenge
We were thrilled about the challenge of creating living sculptures, but there was a huge gap between the idea and the method of execution. The design and animation teams worked together to create portraits and a 3D previsualization of a loose storyboard.
Process
From the design process, we learned that the approach required a massive library of content and a lot of trial and error. A film crew scoured greater London, amassing musical junk to create our living artist sculptures, in search of items that would truly embody the soul of each performer.
Movie Magic
All of this junk found its way to Clapham Road Studios. Armed with loads of memorabilia, motion control rigs, camera equipment, and patience, an incredibly talented group of artists, filmmakers, and producers spent the next week creating this film entirely in-camera, frame by frame. It was truly magical!
